On October 28, 2023, my beloved grandson Rory was killed by a drunk driver. He was 21.

In the months that followed, as a working writer for more than fifty years, writing was the only thing that made the grief bearable, not by resolving it, but by leaning into it. Facing it. Learning to say YES to life when NO was the only word available.
