1975'te İstanbul'da doğan Yıldız Silier, 1997'de Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Matematik Bölümü'nü bitirdikten sonra aynı üniversitenin Felsefe Bölümü'nden 1999'da mastırını aldı. 1999-2003 arasında İngiltere'deki Kent Üniversitesi'nde felsefe doktorasını yaptı. Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümü'nde 2003'te öğretim görevlisi, 2004'te yardımcı doçent oldu. Halen bu bölümde öğretim üyeliğini sürdürmektedir. "Sosyal ve Politik Felsefe", "Modern Felsefe Tarihi", "Estetik", "Özgürlük" ve "Felsefeye Giriş" dersleri vermektedir.

Yıldız Silier, 1993 yılında Theoni Pappas'ın The Joy of Mathematics kitabını Yaşayan Matematik adıyla; 1996 yılında Dirk J. Struik'in A Concise History of Mathematics kitabını Kısa Matematik Tarihi adıyla Türkçeye kazandırdı. 20 ...more
