British inspiration

The Enlightenment Rooms at the British Museum gave me the idea for a scene filled with danger for my character Cordelia Stapleton. The display cases exhibit the great breakthroughs in the Golden Age of Discovery. The sequel to The Explorer's Code is coming in June. The Sardonyx Cup!

good time to read

As Hurricane Irene batters New York, I am enjoying the time to read anything and everything I want. I have two days at least until I have to be productive again. Right now reading A POISIONED SEASON, Tasha Alexander.

spending time on the water

Writing from the boat. Just looking at the ocean is like cleansing the brain. Its astonishing how clearly you can write after a day of this sort of thing. working on a sequel to THE EXPLORER'S CODE

The Martha's Vineyard book festival brought out the real devotees of fiction today. The tent was awash, we were up to our ankles in water, the microphone cut out and yet the stayed to hear excerpts from THE EXPLORER'S CODE. Bravo to the intrepid audience!
