Among the many things that make up the person I am is the title of author. It is a title I respect and work hard to live up to. After all, how many people can say that they help children open the doors to the reading universe one book at a time? Inspiration for my stories comes from many places, including my husband, my daughter, and our three crazy cats, Max, Daisy, and Fluffy. I also love many things besides writing such as cooking, volunteering, crafting, running my local farm market, traveling, reading, sewing, gardening, and so much more. Making new friends is great fun too, so if you see me on the streets of Shelby or anywhere else, be sure to say hello!

My stories are always about three things. Fun, Family, and Friendship. I touch on things like telling the truth, earning through hard work, being a good friend, peer pressure, how rules are made to keep us safe, etc...

I have had teachers as well as a clinical psychologist use my books while teaching or meeting with clients, so I am assuming that my messages are helpful in an entertaining and non threatening way. I have also heard from a grandparent that my book helped her reluctant reader granddaughter to become a reader and to gain more self esteem.

I feel the Good Lord has given me the ability to write, and if I have helped someone in some small way through this writing, then I have done my job.

Out With The Old And In With The New

This past week kept me busy. Besides homeschooling, taking pictures, and attending a board of trustee meeting at the library, I managed to build myself a new website at WIX. Not only is this new website fresh and updated, easy to navigate, and easy to maintain, it also comes with a built in blog for my book reviews.

This means no more running two separate sites. However, I will be leaving this Read more of this blog post »
