The Fae Lord's Companion, the Complete Edition is out!

The Fae Lord's Companion, the Complete Edition by Lisa Kumar

Wow, I haven't posted on here in forever! Well, I'm back and have some book news in this time of craziness.

The Fae Lord's Companion, the Complete Edition, is out!
Parts 1, 2, and 3 are still available, but I combined the parts into one gigantic book! The Complete Edition is the better deal, but Part 1 is free at every e-retailer except Amazon. I can't get them to price match, so it's 99 cents there.

Here's the universal link if you'd like to check the Complete Edition out:

https://books2read.com/u/mdlQeE

Also, I have a free novel, Claiming Lord Thuran, I'm serializing on Tapas, so take a look if you'd like. It's a fantasy romance set in a slightly alternate modern Earth. I have several other stories there in various stages of completion.

Happy Reading,

Lisa

New Release and a New Online Story

Wow, it's been forever since I update this blog. Can you say lazy? I just wanted to drop in and let everyone know about a few book-related things.

I'm part of a Christmas box set titled More Christmas Lovin'. It's only 99 cents, so check it out before it goes away! My short story is a previously published Christmas fantasy romance, Santa for Christmas.

Santa for Christmas by Lisa Kumar
A sexy elf who hates everything about Christmas is forced to be Santa and must go into the seething heart of humanity—the abode of a beautiful single mother and her child in order to save them.

~~~
And I have a free, ongoing darkish fantasy romance serial entitled Hearts of Tar at Ficfun, which is also in their writing contest. Please stop by and follow! You'll help me advance if you do:)
When Miri Summerland follows her young sister into the Forbidden Woods, she thinks death is to be their fate. Instead, their lives are shaped into something so much more gloriously worse at the hands of the handsome but otherworldly fae leader, Eerin. He and his people have blackness flowing through their veins, but how truly dark are they?
Thanks for stopping by!
Crashing into Love Is Out!
The boxed set Crashing into Love is out! And has been for awhile. I'm just a lazy blogger ;)
I'm part of this fantastic set with six other authors. The theme centers around a plane crash. None of our stories are connected except for this common theme. Some of us wrote straight-up contemporary romances, while others like myself and Jenna Jaxon still added a fantasy or time-travel twist.
If you have a moment, please check out the cover and the blurb!
Lost meets Romancing the Stone--action adventure, a dash of mystery, and romance to die for.
Seven planes lift off…seven planes crash…seven stories of struggle, passion and love in the barren Canadian Wilderness, the coast of England, or the steamy heat of a tropical island. Romance hangs in the balance between survival and death.
Brace for Impact by Daryl Devoré.
What could be simpler than a routine plane trip from Toronto, Canada to Caracas, Venezuela for rookie flight attendant, Lori, and sexy R.C.M.P. officer, Guy Lapierre? But Fate had other intentions.
Crashing into You by Lisa Kumar
When Ashlee Trent meets handsome businessman Kaiden West on a plane to Australia, he eases her fears even as he sets her heart ablaze. But after their plane crashes into the ocean and they wash ashore, will the secrets surrounding him send their budding relationship into a nosedive?
Crash and Burn by Melissa Keir
Can Rob and Keira's second honeymoon lead to romance, or will it crash and burn? On the verge of a divorce, Rob and Keira Matthews book a second honeymoon at the urging of their counselor. Unable to conceive, they've pushed each other away in an effort to protect their hearts. Will a romantic holiday be the ticket to love or a plane crash in disaster??
Crashing Through Time by Jenna Jaxon
The most dangerous thing about time travel is knowledge of the past: does she save him and change history, or let the tragic events play out and lose the love of her life?
More than hearts can be broken when you crash through time.
Love Comes Crashing In by Brenda Dyer
Best friends find love in each other's arms, but can that love survive reality?
Falling Hard by D'Ann Lindun
He craves solitude to forget what a woman did to him. She needs one last chance before her career ends. Can a plane crash in the Canadian Rockies show them what really matters?
A Splash of Romance by Deb Julienne
Who knew a plane crash would lead to romance? Hannah Parks is a trauma nurse on her way to a symposium at the Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. She just started her bucket list and a plane crash definitely isn't on it. Oliver Lawson's divorce is final and he's looking to start over. A tropical island, a gorgeous woman. Romance is one thing, getting there as a result of a crash landing...who knew?
Romance Adventures Blog Hop
Welcome to my little spot on the Romance Adventures Blog Hop!
I'll try to keep this short and sweet for those of you who are busy with the holidays, but I do want to talk a bit about the adventures romance novels can take us on.
I know in some of my books, the reader is taken to the mythical land of Eria, where the elvin king and prince welcome us. In another book, we go to the North Pole to spend time with a handsome but arrogant Santa. Sometimes, we even go back in time to Regency England. Each place is magical in its own way, and I hope most of my readers are drawn to the world they're reading about.
Where do you like to be transported to when you read? If you answer below and leave a message, you'll be eligible to win an e-copy of Santa for Christmas and Bound by the Mist. Thanks for stopping by!
Please drop-in on the other authors who're participating in the Romance Adventures Blog Hop so you can learn about their wonderful books and score a chance to win some goodies.
MWP Blog Tour
Hi, everyone! If you don't already know me, my name is Lisa Kumar, and I write fantasy romance and time-travel Regencies.
My good friend Brenda Dyer, who pens fantastic paranormals, chose me to carry on the next spot in the MWP blog tour. I have to say I love her Prophecy series, which features vampires. But these aren't your normal vampires. No, these hot men have a totally different history--and angels are involved. So if this sounds right up your alley, drop by her website and her blog. You won't be sorry.
Here are my answers to how I craft my tales:
1. What am I working on?
Right now, I'm working on the second story in the Love in Time series, which are my Regency time-travels. In the current book, Maryanne, the heroine, is a socially awkward young research scientist from the future who's stranded in 1813 England. She finds shelter with a retired research scientist who "went native" and married an earl from that time. There, she meets the handsome Marquis of Avingdale. Though she can't fathom why, he's interested in her...but he's the whole reason she's in 1813 England in the first place. He's her mission, and he's fated to die. Well, he was until she stopped a potential dalliance that would've led to his death. What's a girl to do in this situation? Maryanne doesn't have a clue. And neither do I--I just know they have to fall in love and end up with a HEA.
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
For my time-travel Regencies, my heroines go to the past on purpose, as they work for the government-controlled agency, Intellitravel. That agency's services are open to only the highest bidders who want to pay obscene amounts of money to know the how and why of past events. That's where my heroines come in--they're sent back in time to "research" the mystery in person. Of course, that never goes smoothly, and they're somehow stuck in the past for awhile.
As for my fantasies--well, they feature hot elvin males who are nothing like Santa's helpers. The elves of Eria are as tall as humans and, on the whole, extremely good-looking. They love nature, but even their powers can't stop their world's magic from fading--the very magic that nurtures Eria's land. Their only hope is Earth and its humans. But the elves have closed themselves off from humanity--and don't trust them. This is where my human heroines come in. They are normal women who have no special powers, but each of them has her own individual personality, with her own strengths and weaknesses. These women have a far greater destiny in Eria than they could ever have on Earth, and they will help bring about a prophecy that will shape the fate of Eria.
3. Why do I write what I write?
I love anything with a fantastical twist, as you can see!
4. How does my writing process work?
Good question! I'm not quite sure how I ever finish a book. I'm very much a pantster, where I write by the seat of my pants. Of course, since I write romance, I have a fair idea of how the ending should come about. The same can be said of the beginning, and then I have a few fuzzy points in-between plotted. I've tried to plot more extensively, but find it kills any drive I have to write the story.
Now, I'm going to pass off the torch to D'Ann Lindun, who will be hosting the next stop on the MWP blog tour. She's an awesome writer of romantic Western suspense novels. If you love smoking-hot cowboys and their resourceful heroines, you'll love her books. Check out some of her great covers below. And if you'd like to take a gander at her blog/website, click here.
Bound to the Elvin King is Out!
I'm so excited to have Bound to the Elvin King out. Of all the stories I've written so far, this is my favorite. I hope you'll love it as much as I do.
Here's the blurb, which, by the way, made it past the pitch round in Amazon's Breakthrough Novel Contest:)
After countless millennia as the King of Eria, Talion thought he’d experienced all life had to offer. That is, until Maggie entered his land. The beautiful human whirlwind refreshes his spirit, while all too often trying his patience. Though he desires nothing more than to claim her as his bond mate and queen, his secrets could drive them apart or even end their lives.
Stranded in the elvin land of Eria, Maggie D’Anglio spends her days trying to figure out a way home while attempting to avoid the sexy and provoking Talion. Unfortunately, she’s living in his palace. His world. His rules. And he can watch her squirm under his penetrating gaze anytime he wants. The mysterious king intrigues and infuriates her as no one ever has, a lethal combination to her commitment-phobic heart. But when she parties too hard and wakes up magically bound to him, there’s no escaping the irresistible irritant—or her new role in a land on the brink of war with the darkindred.
His past, along with her pride, will threaten their relationship and their very lives. If they can’t place their differences aside, a kingdom will be lost to bloodshed. Will they have the courage to admit their love for each other, or will their fears bind them together in death?
An Earl in Time
Boy, have I ever neglected this blog! Sorry about that.
I just wanted to write a short post about my new-ish time-travel Regency romance from Astraea Press.
So here it is:
An Earl in Time
As a research scientist, Julia Avers travels through time to sleuth out the mysteries of past ages. When a rich client commissions her company to send her to 1812 London, she never dreams she’ll land in the townhouse of the Earl of Correlton. He’s handsome, and though she’s from the future, he wants her. Too bad he’s not above stranding her in his home by taking away her only means of escape—her invisibility transmitter.
James Noddingdon, the Earl of Correlton, is bored with all the pleasures London has to offer. When an invisible woman drops into his lap and reveals herself to him, he feels fate has intervened and given him his intended mate. She claims she needs to find the person who will steal the famed Ring of Claremont. Seeking a way to court her, he demands she stay with him and his grandmother for her week in London.
After their week is over, Julia hopes to return home. But will she find that her home—as well as her heart—now rests elsewhere?
If this novella sounds like your thing, it's available in e-book format from all the major distributors--B&N and Amazon, etc. I've also received some great reviews on Amazon (when I last looked, I had none on B&N:)
