Hello, Goodreads friends!

Great to see you this fine morning! How are you?? Well & happy, I sure hope :)

We're busy here this Labor Day, updating the website (http://www.sallyroth.com) with news for the week, taking pics, watching the horde of juncos at the feeder...

These are our summer juncos, the ones with the rusty backs; winter ones will be trading places with them in a few weeks, I reckon.

Which is a great reminder that we should be getting ready for winter, too. As in, cutting wood wood and more wood. Pine beetles have killed many of the trees up here at 8100' in the Rockies, so there's a ready supply. All we need to do is get goin' with the chainsaw :)

But, hey, it's Labor Day, so that means time to tha out some burgers to share with friends later today. Hope you have a great day! XXXOOO

Scrub jay at the feeder!

Boy, I sure love fall, when birds are shifting around or moving through, and unexpected visitors stop by.

This morning, it was a beautiful scrub jay, a crestless species that doesn't live this high up.

Only stayed long enough to have some breakfast with our Steller's and gray jays, but what a treat!

Almost makes up for the hummingbirds being mostly gone. Almost ;)
