Boy, has our weather been weird

It doesn't rain much, here on Colorado's Front Range at 8100'. So dry, two of our native wildflowers are... cactuses. Which grow in the pine woods, how strange is that?

But now we've been having rain. Not just teh 10-minute afternoon showers that used to be par for the course in the Rockies, up until drought hit, maybe 10 years ago.

We've been getting those since August. But now we're having rain. Real rain.

Put in a new 500-gallon rain barrel to catch roof runoff, and it's already full to the brim!

Today's another gray drizzly rainy chilly day, so we've got a little fire going in the woodstove (just lit it last night, first one of the year).

And homemade bread, also first of the year, is rising near the stove :)

Happy for the water, but boy, do I miss the sun. Feel like I'm back in the Pacific Northwest. Though, man, REALLY glad it's not snow! Yet.
