GLYNN JAMES is an author of science fiction, post-apocalyptic, dark fantasy, horror, and dystopian fiction. His love of science fiction began when he was eight years old after discovering HP Lovecraft and Richard Matheson, and then later on Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, James Herbert, Clive Barker, and Stephen King.

In addition to being author of the “ALTERLIGHT” supernatural mystery thriller series, he is author of the dark sci-fi series "DIARY OF THE DISPLACED", the post-apocalyptic "THROWN AWAY" series, and co-author of the "ARISEN" series and the “DUSTFALL” series.

I poured a lot of my time over three years into the series! The answer is complicated, really, but to keep it simple, I wasn't finding the time to write the other series that I'd committed to before Arisen was created, and later in the Arisen series I wasn't keeping up with Michael, which was unfair. Also the series was getting longer than originally planned, and something (or someone) had to give, and that ended up being me. I'm not a military writer (though I picked up a lot during the process of co-writing the first eight Arisen books), and Michael is, so it seemed the best choice for us was for him to finish the series and for me to bow out and pick up on everything that I'd neglected.
I may do zombies again at some point, in an entirely new series, but I need to quench my thirst for scifi, horror and fantasy before I consider going back.(less)

“Whatever happens, keep moving and thinking. Countless millions have spent their last moments on Earth paralyzed by confusion. Don’t be among them. These words faded out again, but not before leaving their mark on him. And this mark was indelible. He knew now: he was somehow going to have to think his way out of this.”
Glynn James, The Horizon

“The New World. I don’t know. I think I like this one, even if it’s a bit old and worn.”
Glynn James, Another Man's Gold

“They even had a name for it: “hindsight bias.” It referred to the difficulty of remembering how little you knew at the time, how uncertain things were, before they all played out. Even wildly contingent events looked inevitable in retrospect. But they weren’t. And it’s actually psychologically difficult to imagine not knowing back then what you know now.”
Glynn James, Empire of the Dead

“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”

Jim Bradford Started reading Diary of the Displacedtoday, and it reminds me of a modern day Algernon Blackwood - in a really good way!
