Prudencio De Pereda published his first story in 1936 and met Hemingway during the Spanish Civil War. The two collaborated on a couple of film commentaries. De Pereda subsequently wrote a number of short stories and three novels: All the Girls We Loved (1948), Fiesta (1953), and Windmills in Brooklyn (1960).
