Simon James (S.J.) Thiessen is an Australian crime fiction author based in Hobart, Tasmania.

He writes the Detective Inspector Terry Stratton series—crime novels set in lutruwita / Tasmania, where isolation sharpens motives and the past has a habit of refusing to stay buried.
