Goodbye Twitter

Twitter and I used to have a good relationship.

I’ll never forget the first giddy thrill of interacting with Clive Barker over a few precious tweets. A new Hellraiser comic was out and I was curious if it was an iteration of his long-gestating (and since published) Pinhead novel or if it was new material. I fired off a tweet to Clive (I feel like I can call him Clive now we’re Twitter buddies) with

“Why would you ever choose to die?’
‘Because a life with no end loses meaning. Death defines life.
One day, I hope to find a good reason to die.”

"Sure. Toyota...”

“At least she hadn’t bothered to put any mascara on this morning; otherwise, she
would certainly have serious panda eyes and look even more frightful.”

My pleasure Sanette, I'm very glad you enjoyed it. I actually think the sequel's a better book so I'm looking forward to your thoughts.
Take Care,
MJ

Hi Daphne,
I'd love to have a book signing in Canada, unfortunately Winter's Shadow hasn't actually been published over there yet. My agent's still struggling to crack the international market. It's very frustrating. Fingers crossed the situation changes soon. If you have any connections in the publishing industry over there feel free to lobby on my behalf :)

Daphne Delacroix Will you be having a book signing this year in Canada?

Hi Daphne,
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I'm glad the romance in Winter's Shadow worked for you. It certainly wasn't easy to write, so your positive feedback is definitely appreciated. Violence is a lot easier to describe than love and tenderness, but I gave it my best shot. The sequel to Winter's Shadow comes out next year, it's called Winter's Light and I hope you'll join me for another journey into the dark.
Thanks again,
M. J.

Daphne Delacroix Hi, MJ, I just wanted to say that I really respect your work! I really loved your book Wintter's Shadow, even though I am a little picky, and I think it's amazing that you were gutsy enough to write a romance.

Do you know that I am a fan of only 3 male authors? They are Micael Grant, Eoin Colfer and you. Do you know why only 3 males? Because I am a romantic, and most guys don't have the guts to write aromance without sex. Michael Grant wrote about people having sex, but he didn't describe the scene. There was no romance is Eoin Colfer's book. But you. You were amazing. If I hadn't known you'd written it, I'd have thought you were a girl (that's a compliment, because only women can write good romance books. Women and you.)

Great Job!
