I Cried on the Drive Home

Yesterday I cried on the drive home.

I didn’t even know yesterday was Sully’s last appointment.

I should have felt nothing but happiness.

Instead, somewhere on the drive home, I started crying.

Yeah, I’m

“At the end of the day your ability to connect with your readers comes down to how you make them feel.”
― Benjamin J. Carey, Barefoot in November

“It's amazing how we wake up every day and just take for granted that life will go on. We know the reality that it will end at some point, yet we still wake up every morning believing deeply, that we will live forever.”
― Benjamin J. Carey, Barefoot in November

“It's only as bad as you make it.”

“As the years go by those relationships are tested, and only then do you realize their true nature. Only after they've been tested through weddings, moves, funerals, divorces, births and other stages in life are you able to judge them. Until then, 'best friend', 'good guy', etc are only labels. In the end, it's interesting; often surprising to see the results.”

“Funerals aren't scheduled.”
― Benjamin J. Carey, Barefoot in November

“The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof.”
― Richard Bach, Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah
