Loretta Lynn's Blog: We're On Beach Time Here!

As summer fast approaches I spend more of my quiet time outside searching for organic inspiration. It really isn't hard with the beauty of spring popping up everywhere inspiring my thoughts and ideas. Even my reading time has moved outdoors, a book in my bag at all times. Wanderlust has excited me with thoughts of weekends away and holistic experiences abound!

The ocean is my potion. We've all heard that one before, but in some cases it's true. When it comes to writers, I believe there is an esoteric group whose creativity flourishes in this environment. Most of us write about it in our stories and books, and some of us intentionally live it. I personally live on an Island in the Atlantic in the summer and walk the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico in the winter. Throw in any other body of water I can visit worldwide and I’m there! Call me a beachbum or call it my muse, the ocean clears the cobwebs and makes the creative juices flow. It reminds one that there is a wild and compelling world out there to be explored. My third book, based off the north Atlantic, in Ireland, is near completion. As the sun sets on that intriguing story, new ideas emerge over the horizon.
