Saadiq was born and raised in Louisiana. She began writing around the age of 12 when she realized that she had a talent for story telling. While in junior high school she discovered a talent for the game of basketball which she used to her advantage to earn a college scholarship. Saadiq is a graduate of Northwestern State University with a B.S. in Social Sciences. After graduating she moved to Texas and became special education teacher and a basketball coach. She is the mother of two beautiful little girls. Saadiq has devoted her life to working with and mentoring youth and giving back to the community.
