Gastropod – Food from Thin Air

Marcellin Berthelot in his lab

It may seem like magic, but it is possible to manufacture "food from thin air"—at least in appearance. If you want to discover how, and which companies are doing it today, listen to the fabulous podcast, Gastropod, hosted by Nicky Twilley and Cynthia Graber. After I wrote about century-old attempts to make food from air by Marcellin Berthelot and his son Daniel Berthelot in Popular Science, I had an awesome conversation with Nicky and Cynthia who dive deeper into the science in their episode, "Yes, You Really Can Make Food From Thin Air—And We Tried It." Don't miss it!

Many thanks to Cynthia Graber and Nicky Twilley

Delmarva Review Volume 16 – Inspired!

DR V16 Cover - Front

As managing editor, I'm biased, but I'm more inspired than ever by this year's edition of Delmarva Review! The collection of poems, short stories, and essays capture the angst, joy, challenges, and small victories that signify the times in which we now live. This year's contributors range from a Ukrainian poet writing about the war to the impact of our rapidly changing climate on everyday life. You really won't want to miss Volume 16!

Check out my interview with Patricia Yacob from Apple News about why we don't yet have a universal vaccine for the common cold. There probably will be one, eventually, but listen in to find out more (my bit comes in at about the halfway point): Apple News Today
