Blood in the Streets: Racism,Riots and Murders in the Heartland of America

" Blood in the Streets:...." is based on true events covering the decade from 1965-1975 in America, the most violent period of urban unrest and violence in modern history. Written before the violence in Ferguson, Baltimore and Charleston SC, the gritty story is told through the personal experiences of a young white rookie cop, Dan Baker, when riots erupt. Additionally, perspectives of co Author Gwen Nalls, a young black girl living in the ghetto during the same time. Reveals that decades ago, the U.S. struggled with the same underlying issues that precipitated hate and violence again; poverty, segregation, poor education and the need to improve police-community relationships.

The story tells how a city endured 3 violent riots and four summers of serial murders by a racist random drive-by shotgun serial killer. Ultimately, the black and white citizens find a way to come together and end the violence and hate in a very public way.
