Now You Owe Me is Three Weeks From Pub Day!

I can scarcely believe the launch of my debut thriller, “Now You Owe Me,” is now less than a month away!

I’m overjoyed by the reviews! Especially from Library Journal: "Well-crafted characters will draw in readers, and an intricately woven plot will keep them in their seats. Recommended for fans of Tana French, Gillian Flynn, and Karin Slaughter." https://tinyurl.com/ym8ap4vh

This book was a labor of love from the beginning. It began, believe it or not, as a short story before the pandemic. I’m a firm believer in God’s timing so I’m happy you’ll be holding it in your hands soon!

Although PubDay is Sept. 10th, my publisher is hosting the launch party Friday, Sept. 13th at 7 p.m., at "D.C.'s premier independent bookstore and cultural hub," Politics and Prose, 5015 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, D.C.

If you’re in DC or up for a visit, meet me there! I’ll be doing a book reading and signing along with special guest, New York Times lauded author DC Frost (A Punishing Breed)! We will also be joined by Kate Gale of Red Hen Press. Not only is Kate my editor, she's the author of Under a Neon Sun. If DC is too far away, I’ll also be at Looker Books, Coatesville, Pa, Saturday, Sept. 21, 3:30 p.m.

I hope to add more appearances as fall progresses. But I will also be in California in early October at Octavia’s Bookshelf in Pasadena. You can get updates on my appearances from my website, https://www.aliahwright.com. Just click on "upcoming."

Goodreads is also giving away 100 free copies now through Aug. 30th! Click here to enter for a chance to win:
https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...

And don’t forget, you can purchase the book online in the usual places, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Wal-Mart, etc., or pre-order it at a discount from your local book store or https://bookshop.org/p/books/now-you-...

Rather read it on your device? Order an ebook version:
https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/now-...

I hope you enjoy it! And, if you do, please leave me a review on Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or wherever you’ve happened to encounter a listing for the book!

And a very special shoutout to all of you wonderful Goodreads readers and fans (Wow I have fans, now, like wha?!!?) who have given me such glowing reviews! I'm reading and re-reading them over and over again.

From the bottom of my heart - thank you so very much!

Sincerely,
Aliah

'Tis the Season to Snuggle Up With a Good Book!

Now You Owe Me

Can you believe that Christmas and Hanukkah are mere days away? I haven't even put up my Christmas tree yet! This year has been a whirlwind.

What Have I Been Up To?

Engaging with all you wonderful readers! I've also been chatting with Booktokers, Instagram influencers, Podcasters, Reporters, and online fans who have been raving and supporting “Now You Owe Me” since well before the book came out in September.

The book tour that began in February led me to meet and chat first with booksellers at the American Booksellers Association conference, as well as readers, and fans all year. From Ohio and Virginia to California, India, and beyond - it’s been an extraordinary, jaw-dropping, marvelously wonderful, kind, and fun experience both in person and online.

And surreal, too. To think that so many people have resonated with characters from my imagination is pretty amazing.

Writing is such a solitary pursuit. When I conceived Amanda and Ben and his twin sister, Corinthia, and Fiona several years ago, I never envisioned they’d leap from my imagination onto the page and into the hands of really appreciative readers.

And for that I am truly grateful.

What's Up Next?

After spending most of the year touring bookstores, speaking at book festivals, being lauded as part of my publisher’s 30-year-anniversary in Pasadena (shoutout to Red Hen Press), and walking the red carpet at the legendary Apollo Theater with my significant other earlier this month, I’m exhausted.

What I’m looking forward to now is wrapping up work in a neat, shiny bow before the holidays, which I’m spending with loved ones closer to home.

More appearances at conferences and book festivals are slated for next year. I’ve done some podcasts and have a book club appearance or two in the works as well. And do inbox me if you'd like me to appear for a Q&A at your book club! I'm even giving away a few signed copies, too!

But the biggest thing I’m looking forward to is finishing the second part of Amanda’s tale.

Yes, Amanda’s story is far from over! Come on man! You know I wouldn’t EVEN leave you hanging like that. Many of you have asked what happens next. Well, for that you’ll have to wait for book two. I can tell you, however, that what’s ahead is phenomenal! Writing it was a blast! I hope readers will be astonished and shocked by what happens to Amanda, Fiona, Ben, and Corinthia.

I’m happy to report that it’s nearly complete!

And if you haven’t purchased
"Now You Owe Me" and it's still on your TBR, now is a good time to do so! Why?

Because “Now You Owe Me” is available everywhere online. I encourage you to get it (for yourself and perhaps as a gift for the thriller lovers in your lives) from your favorite brick-and-mortar retailer through bookshop.org. Here's a link to my book on the site: https://bookshop.org/p/books/now-you-...

Bookstores make our communities thrive! Supporting them is important -- especially black-owned bookstores (like Octavia's Bookshelf in Pasadena; Harriet's Bookshop in Philadelphia; and Malik Books in LA.). For those of you outside the country, you can even order it overseas (it went on sale in Europe and Asia in October).

Meanwhile, as we snuggle up with good books here on the East Coast beneath falling snow and wintry wonders, I wish you all the happiest of holidays as well as best wishes for you and yours in the New Year!

Joyously,

Aliah
