I write comic-fantasy fiction with a light steampunk edge - usually involving eccentric characters and questionable decisions. But always tea and biscuits.

Self-publishing? Easy! Self-marketing? Nightmare!

Apparently I need to tell my author journey, and I’m aware that nobody will read this…but:

Having written a book which I thoroughly enjoyed doing (and I hope to thoroughly enjoy finishing the series, too) I was excited to self-publish. Research, research and research again and I got what I needed and got to it.

Then found out that I had to market the damn thing!

The world is telling indie-authors that they need a huge social media presence, ARCs coming out of their ears and more money than the Beatles; you have written a series of fun-to-read, enjoyable stories which have sold in good numbers and are rather quite popular and appear to have none of the above. Are you a wizard? Because I can think of no other explanation. I would love to hear your secret! Apologies for not answering this one earlier. I've been stuck thinking about this.
