For the last ten years Ian has spent most of his time as a professional artist, with some modest success. He has also preyed on unsuspecting audiences as a crooner, singing Sinatra classics in cabaret and at dinner dances etc. His earlier career was in construction, preceded by a short time in the Merchant Navy before studying civil engineering at university. His first novel, 'The Hitler Canvas', was published under the imprint of Peckforton Press in 2010 and a Kindle Edition followed in 2011. Not surprisingly the main character is an artist, a singer and a former seafarer. Letter from an English Village: the Coast

We English are an island race and, although my village is some distance from the coast, like most Englishmen I feel quite an affinity for the sea - probably enhanced by having served for a short time on a tramp ship as a young man.
