The Writing Journey of Project Groom: Week Two
Day Eight-ish: February 4, 2024
The last few days of writing, or trying to, have been weird. I found it hard to write a certain scene. Not sure why 😕 But today I sat down and finally wrote the scene in probably 2-3 hours. And it was only two pages long. Yea. So I'm not finishing this novella by, well, today. Maybe Yes tomorrow, maybe Tuesday, but it will be this week! Writing hasn't gone as planned this week, but I'm almost finished the first draft. Can't wait to rewrite! That's what I'm looking forward to the most. Well, that's been my crazy day and week of writing. I hope you all have a great night!
Day Nine: February 5, 2024
Why is writing SO difficult at no times? sigh Got a late start today because today was my first day of online Bible college. Yea! But then I sat barely writing for a good two hours. I decided I didn't need two of my scenes so I had to rewrite Chapter Twelve. But the good news is I finished the first draft!!! Woohoo!!! At least I'm saying I'm done. I'd like to do an epilogue but we'll see. on Friday Project Groom coming first aesthetic look at P.S. Stayed tuned for the I'm going to be setting Project Groom aside for a little bit before I enter stage two of writing it 😊 And that's been Day Nine, the last day of writing, PG! Goodnight!

Day Nine: February 5, 2024

The Writing Journey of Project Groom: Week One
Day One: January 25, 2024
After staying up until Midnight brainstorming my new shiny story idea, I spent all morning planning out the book and details. The rest of the day was spent writing the first chapter. I started it 8 times, you guys!!! 8!!! *sigh* I FINALLY got it right though and finished writing Chapter One of Project Groom. Woohoo! My poor hand needs a break 😆 But that’s been Day One! Goodnight ❤️
Day Two: January 26, 2024
Another rough start today on Chapter Two (I think it may be due to the fact that it started with the other MC’s POV, so it was like writing a hook sentence all over again), but after that bump writing went smoothly. I finished Chapter Two and Three, though Three probably needs a rewrite. But that’s been Day Two of writing Project Groom! Have a wonderful evening!
Day Three: January 27, 2024
Got a late start today, but the words flowed really well. I rewrote Chapter Three, wrote Chapter Four, and started Chapter Five. Getting distracted by a movie, so I’m calling it a night 😊 Have a wonderful night!
Day Four: January 28, 2024
Got an early start today, and even with a busy day, I managed to get a lot done 😊 I finished Chapter Five and got quite a ways into Chapter Six. Even managed to find time to bake cookies 🍪 And that’s been Day Four of Project Groom. Have a great evening!
P.S. I’m LOVING my characters!!! Can’t helping fangirl about them and the story!
Day Five: January 29, 2024
Well, I finished the last little bit of Chapter Six, but then the words kind of stopped being cooperative 😕 So I stepped back and did something else for a while. When I came back to it later, I restarted Chapter Seven and the words flowed again. Now both Chapters Six and Seven are completed. And that’s been Day Four! Have a blessed night!
Day Six: January 30, 2024
It’s Day 6 already?! Wow 😮 Time has flown by. Well. Instead of writing I procrastinated this morning by setting up my new curtain lights (so pretty), then I had to write blog posts. So I didn’t start writing until late this afternoon. When I did write, I only wrote Chapter Eight, which is just fine 😊 I’d keep writing but I’m tired. So I’m calling it a productive day! Goodnight!
Day Seven: February 1, 2024
Phew! Today has been a day! Yesterday words weren’t wording so I took a much needed break. but today I put some music on and got down to work. The music really helped, that and praying. I got Chapters Nine-Eleven done!!! 😮 I was going to do Chapter Twelve (it has a scene I’m really-really excited to write) but the creative juices have quit for the day. So that’s been Day Seven!
P.S. I’m almost done PG! I’m hoping to finish the first draft by Sunday! 🤞

The Inspiration Behind the Anne Series
Fun story, Anne: Kindred Spirits isn’t actually my first time writing an Anne of Green Gables retelling. Back in spring of 2023, I had started writing a story called Kindred Spirits, it was an AOGG retelling told through a series of blog posts written by Anne. I loved that story. And it was going really well. I was 2/3 of the way through.
Then I got burnt out and the dreaded writer’s block. I was stuck. Doubting myself and my writing didn't help much either.
But I still wanted to write an AOGG retelling, so that, paired with my desire to try my hand at writing a serial fiction (the literary form of a TV show), gave me the idea for Anne Kindred Spirits and the rest of the series.
So after a few days of going over the book and planning, I sat down and started writing. And five months later, here I am with book #1 published and book #2 ready to publish soon! It's a dream come true!
Oh, and I still love that original story, Kindred Spirits. Maybe someday I’ll go back to it. Maybe 😊
And that's the inspiration and story behind the Anne series!

I am currently publishing each "episode" on my Patreon account. I'm hoping to publish the ebook on Amazon sometime in March.
