A day-in-the-life-of-a-writer post:

So I was minding my own business, riding my motorcycle, and came up behind this really slow vehicle. Slo-o-o-o-o-ow. And I passed it. The pass . . . um . . . didn't take a whole lot of time. Turns out it was my mom and her friends, who then saw me take a corner and now now know my motorcycle—gasp—leans as it goes around corners. I guess my secret is out. ;)

I've been informed I shall need to be darned careful on those corners in the next months when there's ice on the roads. Because moms are always moms, right? Which is as it should be.

So to make her feel better, I told her that when it's cold enough that there's ice on the roads, don't worry, I won't be out riding. I'll be tucked behind my desk, writing about people having kinky sex. I can say things like that to her. She's cool that way.

I normally blog about erotica and related subjects, but some things are too exciting (to me, anyway), not to share.


I took my motorcycle skills test this morning. Other than being so nervous I felt I might throw up, and the test being conducted on a lot strewn with gravel (which made me do an interesting fishtail maneuver), it went well. The guy didn't even count the fishtail because of the gravel. So I got a perfect score (and then was so relieved, I rode away with my kickstand down).


Anyway, now I can go riding without supervision. It's a heady feeling. :)


Ooooooh! And I found this utterly practical little item called a Diva-Do helmet liner, which keeps my hair from turning into dreadlocks when I ride. Of all my bike gear, it's my favorite thing evah. Evah! If you have long hair and you ride, you need one of these.

My new favorite saying: keep the shiny side up!

This isn't the first time I've blogged about erotica authors and younger readers/followers/friends, but it's an issue that continues to arise, and I feel strongly about it.

I realize that as an erotica author I'm all about crossing lines and stepping outside of what's traditionally been considered "decent."  But there's one line of decency even I won't cross.

Please understand, if you're not legally an adult, I'm not comfortable with our being online friends. Please don't ask me to, because if I even suspect you're not an adult, I won't do it.

Wait a few years for the smut. Trust me, the time will go by soon enough, and the smut will still be there. For now, enjoy the awesomeness of being the age you are.
