I ate this one up. I love the footnotes that include real world history that inspired the fiction. I learned so much more about civil rights and queer history.
Meet Me in the Garden by Nina LaCour
"This book will sweep you off your feet. The way we define “family” can change and grow and evolve, especially in ways that are deliciously unexpected. All the characters are so real I felt like I could see them all so clearly. The writing is magical " Read more of this review »

I think it’s so cool that this series is a collaborative effort with 6 authors! This book is a cute romance about 6 couples in a New York City blackout. I’m immediately jumping into book 2! I’m excited to meet the authors at the Bookmarks Festival!

Gritty and disturbing. Not for the faint of heart but it explores real questions, experiences and sometimes horrors about what it means to be a trans woman.
