Enjoying a fantastic week here in LA and a whirlwind book tour! Thank you again to friends and colleagues (and even a few strangers) who have come out to readings, bought books, and reconnected. I loved reading in the LA Central Public Library, my favorite building in Los Angeles, where I have spent time writing novels, appreciating the art and architecture and finding hundreds of books for myself and my children!

Currently reading Overstory by Richard Powers. For years I read books while walking to and from my office. People would often ask me in the elevator: "Good book?" My standard reply: "All books are good." As a technology, books are hard to beat. But as a piece of art, Overstory is exceptionally beautiful.

Many thanks to so many friends and neighbors who came out to the Frogtown Art Walk on Saturday. I loved seeing people from so many different parts of my life. And what a treat to have poets Linda Ravenswood and Bernadette McComish in the Literary Loft with me.

Los Angeles friends, I will be reading from BENEATH THE SAME HEAVEN on two different occasions! I would love to see you and share my newest novel with you.
