Step into worlds of dark magic, warrior queens, and dangerous bargains. Jocelyn A. Fox writes the kind of epic fantasy she always wanted to read—fast-paced adventures with fierce heroines, a touch of romance, and plenty of monsters to slay. Author of The Fae War Chronicles and the Athena Ellison series, Jocelyn believes every reader deserves to lose themselves in a story that feels like stepping through a portal. Come join the fight—you just might discover your new favorite world.

Hi Mica! First of all, thanks for reading. I'm glad you love Tess and Vell as much as I do.

I'll never say never about future books. I honestly don't plot out the details like some authors do; I listen to what my characters tell me and I make decisions based on what I think will be best for world-building and the reader's experience. The sixth book in the series, "The Dragon Ship," which I'm currently drafting, is told from the perspective of Vivian, Quinn, and Guinna, along with a new character that I won't name yet but is certainly a fierce young woman with a lot to tell. Tess and Vell will be involved in the plot, of course, but it's not from their viewpoint. I think in future books I'll circle back to some of our original characters and revisit them, because they've done a lot of growing and they've had a lot of experiences between the first book and now.

I hope this answers your question! Now, time for me to get back to work on the manuscript!(less)

“Mortals may not believe in magic in the way they did centuries ago, but they merely call it a different name,” Merrick said from my other side. “Artists and poets—and many others—still draw on inspiration and imagination. They make the fantastic real. And what is that if not magic?”
Jocelyn A. Fox, The Crown of Bones

“My mind caught hold of the threads of a distant memory, one pushed so far back into the curve of my skull that it was hard to draw it out. The frayed threads kept slipping away from me, tantalizing. I knew somehow that it was a very important memory. I felt my forehead wrinkle with the effort.”
Jocelyn A. Fox, The Iron Sword

“There is nothing wrong with pleasure for pleasure’s sake. But…” He swallowed. “When there is a darkness in your soul, pleasure will not heal it.”
Jocelyn A. Fox, The Dark Throne
