Holden R. Snow was born in 2004 in Welwyn, England, to a Scottish mother an English father. Though born in England, Snow grew up in the historic Scottish town of St Andrews, where he attended Madras College from 2017-2023, and later went on to study History at St Andrews University, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the world.

Snow began writing his first fantasy novel, Darker Skies Ahead, in March, 2021, whilst stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was published in February 2024, to critical acclaim.
