Jaar na jaarverloor die mense van Flarant hul kinders aan die spoke en monsters opAllerheilige aand. Hulle kan nie vlug nie. Hulle is sonder alle hoop.

En dan kom 'nvreemdeling die dorp binne in die dae wat lei tot die gebeurtenis.

Emily bevraagteken haar verstandigheid wanneerdie trol sy knuppel lig en die towenaar met sy staf verdedig, en maak dat syuit haar ateljee vlug.
