I was born in New York City, grew up on Long Island, N.Y. and have been a resident of California since 1967. I attended Occidental College and Loyola University School of Law. I am admitted to practice in California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and in the U.S. Supreme Court. For most of my legal career, from1975 to 2006, I was employed as a deputy and assistant district attorney with the Orange County District Attorney's Office. During my career I was assigned to nearly all of the vertical trial teams and worked for 13 years in the Homicide Unit which I supervised for three.
