Harriet Ashford has been addicted to writing since the fourth grade and has become increasingly serious about it. Her other passion is reading romance and catching that second-hand falling-in-love feeling.

She lives in Houston with her husband, two boys, and a rambunctious blue
heeler. When she’s not reading, writing, or herding the boys, you can find
her embroidering semi-inappropriate messages onto her latest cross-stitch project.

I highly recommend this for anyone who is having trouble with doom scrolling. I am a lot more aware when I pick up my phone now. There are a lot of ideas in here that are a little too extreme for me, but I think the point is to pick what works for yo ...more

This read more like a memoir to me rather than a self-help book. I did, however, appreciate the take on addiction and her journey to better herself.

“Years of evolutionary coding told me to jump him and continue the bloodline”
Harriet Ashford, The Trouble with Love and Coaches

“I was good at my job. Over the years, I'd evolved into quite the problem solver. But nothing ever matched up to this, someone appreciating my art—my calligraphy bringing someone joy. That never happened over spreadsheets.”
Harriet Ashford, The Trouble with Love and Ink

“Work is crazy. Things are too busy right now."
"That's exactly why you need a vacation. The point of a vacation is to escape life when it's hectic.”
