David Martin Anderson is an American novelist, entrepreneur, and community activist. He is best known for his popular historical fiction novels, most notably his two-book 'Billy Bartell' series (THE LAST GOOD HORSE and BEATY BUTTE); both novels were named finalists for Faulkner-Wisdom literary awards (2011 & 2019). He is married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Jane Law (m. 1971) and resides in Kendall County, Texas at his Hill Country ranch , Rancho con Rocas. Born in Waialua, Hawaii (1950) on a C&H sugar plantation, he was raised in Iowa and graduated from Des Moines Lincoln High School in 1968.
