So--I invented a murder in Seattle of a famous actress in 1970 (some Sharon Tate influence here) and set the story today with a film company shooting at all the real locales. It seems the set is cursed, because people involved on the film shoot start dying. My heroine works in a food truck catering the production. I had a fun time writing this, because I got to combine my love for movies, The Food Network, and flashed back to 1970. NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW hits bookstores and ebook venues on July 28th. I hope you'll check it out.(less)

I develop characters that will believably work within the framework of that plot--giving them back-stories which will create audience sympathy and move the action forward. The reader has to care about the characters if they're going to get involved in the story. And I have to like the main characters to keep writing. I hope that's some help, Aaron. (less)
