On the one hand, this book beat my expectations in good ways in the beginning. Then, it just became incredibly unbalanced. I wanted to love it, but I have to talk about this.

Michaela and I turned 30 this year, which means we’ve been creating videos on this channel for a third of our lives. This book is a conundrum to me. On the one hand, I really liked the representation and emotionally intelligent discussion. On the other hand, I never really emotionally connected with the characters. Let’s discuss!

Wherein we roped poor Dez into joining our buddy reading challenge to read something that has been lingering on our TBR for the longest time.

Jessica Joyce blew me away last year with her book, You With a View. I had so many expectations for her latest, and I’m happy to say that it met all of them and more. I can’t wait to tell you about this 5 star, second chance read!

I am well known to not like horror, but I’ll do anything for Michaela. However, neither of us got what we wanted from this book, and we have a LOT to say about it.

I had really high expectations for this one, but something just seemed off the entire time I was reading. I don’t think it was a bad book, per se, but I’m going to do my best to explain why I felt that way.

I really liked Farah Heron’s Accidentally Engaged, and I was looking for more of the same from this one. While it includes a lot of the writing elements I enjoyed previously, the balance wasn’t quite there. With the heavy subject matters, I think the romance got a little buried!

This was an unthemed episode, which meant that folks could bring whatever they wanted. Well, let me tell you, our guests did not come to play. They brought books in multiples. There is so much good stuff here to tell you about!
