✨ Blooming Bonds & Bookish Crushes - Sofia's Cozy Writing Corner ✨

aka: the one where I fall in love with a blue himbo and flirt with emotional ruin

Hey sugarplums,

We’re back for another round of soft chaos and spicy monsters… and let me tell you, the vibes this week are feral florist meets pastel heartbreak. Between drafting my coziest monster romance yet, falling head over heels for a blue skinned god in a toga, and organizing my entire life around Laufey’s new music drops, it felt like the perfect moment for a little catch up.

So let’s get into it…

🌸 What I’m Writing
If you’ve ever wished the Fortune Records universe had just a bit more knotting, cozy vibes, and emotionally repressed monsters… you’re going to love what I’m working on next.

This new series takes us back to where it all began - right near Rosie’s café. But this time, she’s not the only omega on the block. Each book will follow a new heroine and her fated mate (or mates), from broody gargoyles to stormy elementals to one very silent minotaur butcher. It’s still sweet. Still spicy. Still soft enough to want to hug, but with claws under the surface.

And yes, there’s nesting.

🕯️ A Little Bit Darker…
While I’ve been happily elbow deep in cinnamon roll monsters and scent soaked mating bonds… I’ve also been dipping my toes into something darker.

Think candlelit libraries. Wicked rituals. An academy where nothing is quite as it seems.

My Dark Academy Omegaverse project is slowly coming to life under Sofia Graves, and let’s just say: if you’ve ever wanted your paranormal romance with a dash of danger and love interests that bite… you’re going to want to keep your eyes peeled.

📚 What I’m Reading
My entire brain has been taken hostage by Lore Olympus. Yes, I’m late. No, I don’t care.

I thought I was just “checking it out.” Cut to me seven volumes deep, openly weeping over Persephone’s glow up and googling “how tall is Hades actually.”

If you’ve ever loved an emotionally constipated myth man with a secret soft side, welcome to the club. We have cookies and breakdowns.

🎧 Current Writing Playlist
Laufey said, “let’s destroy the emotionally fragile girls this summer,” and I said, “thank you.”

Her latest releases are everything I need to write sweet monster romance with a touch of longing. Here’s what’s been looping while I draft:

- Tough Luck

- Silver Lining

- Lover Girl

It’s giving moonlit walks, shared secrets, and the slow realization that someone would absolutely die for you.

💬 Quick Catch Up
Sofia Graves has officially stepped into the moonlight. My pen name for the darker, edgier, still super steamy stories that don’t quite fit in the cozy café. You’ll see more from her very soon. And yes, there will be knots.

Also, in totally unrelated life updates: I got absolutely drenched on my walk home from the office today - like soggy socks, mascara running, full romcom breakdown levels of drenched. If a monster had offered me shelter (or snacks), I might’ve imprinted on them right there.

Thanks for hanging out with me, darling. I’ll be back soon with more tea, more spice, and more monsters who are desperate to be loved.

🧁 Stay soft, stay spicy,

Sofia

✨ Sabbaticals, Stitching & Secret Projects — Sofia's Cozy Writing Corner ✨

✨ Sabbaticals, Stitching & Secret Projects — Sofia's Cozy Writing Corner ✨

aka: the one where I rearrange my desk and accidentally outline three new series

Hey gorgeous,

It’s been a little quiet in the public world of cozy monsters lately, but behind the scenes? I’ve been pre-plotting, pre-writing, and pre-falling in love with more monster love interests than I know what to do with.

Let’s catch up, shall we?

💌 What I’m Writing

First up: The Zodiac Society. I’m in the final stretch of pre-writing all twelve novellas (plus one very special initiation story). Each one is tender, spicy, and just a little unhinged, in the best way. Astraea is earning her way through the wheel of the zodiac, and I’ve never had more fun spoiling a heroine.

I’m also working on two super cozy stories for upcoming projects under Sofia Rose, and they’re both part of anthologies with some of the most amazing authors I’ve ever had the joy of working alongside. These stories are soft, swoony, and full of that signature Sofia Rose sweetness… with just a dash of spice.

And if that wasn’t enough chaos… I’ve officially started drafting the first book in my new cozy monster series. I can’t share too much yet, but it’s warm and romantic and completely wholesome. Think soft growly alphas, quirky small towns, and enough emotional yearning to make your heart do a little wiggle.

🔥 A Little Bit Darker…

Over in the shadows, Sofia Graves has made her debut with Elements of Choking, part of a shared world of standalone dark romances. It’s coming this October and features magical breathplay, dangerous devotion, and a dark wizard who’s definitely not safe but might be soulmate material.

If you’ve ever wanted your HEAs with a side of enchanted restraint and obsessive energy… Sofia Graves has you covered.

📚 What I’m Reading

Right now, I’m deep into the Ruthless Boys series (thank you, book club), and I’ve fully joined the emotionally compromised fae boy fan club. The drama. The chaos. The trauma bonding. I am feasting.

I also picked up First Time Caller, and it’s the perfect palate cleanser, sweet, sexy, and surprisingly soft. Highly recommend if you’re into cute awkwardness, tender love, and falling for someone’s voice first.

🎧 Current Writing Playlist

My soundtrack lately has been a mix of romantic piano and emotionally charged background ambiance. The kind of music that makes everything feel like the opening montage of a soft monster love story.

If you’ve got a playlist that feels like falling in love in a sunbeam, send it my way.

💬 Quick Catch-Up

I’m officially on my soft girl sabbatical, five glorious weeks off between jobs, which I’ve filled with crafting, long writing days, and chasing the fleeting Irish summer through open windows.

I redid my entire desk setup (yes, again), and it’s now the coziest little author nook you’ve ever seen. At the center of it all? Maribelle, my new jellyfish lamp, who may or may not be inspiring an undersea-themed monster romance down the line. She glows. She shimmers. She’s my muse.

And while it’s been a little quieter here on the public side of Sofia Rose, just know I’ve been working away behind the scenes, pre-writing three new series and counting so I can shower you with sweetness when the time comes.

Thanks for hanging out with me, sweetheart. I’ll be back soon with more cozy chaos, flirty updates, and sneak peeks from all the worlds I’m building.

🧁 Stay soft, stay spicy,

Sofia

✨ Cozy Chaos & Secret Completions - Sofia's Cozy Writing Corner ✨

✨ Cozy Chaos & Secret Completions - Sofia's Cozy Writing Corner ✨

aka: the one where I finish a whole damn series and find out I’ve been short-sighted my entire life

Hey sweetpea,

We’re back for another tea chat, and this one’s a doozy. Since the last time we curled up together, I’ve finished an entire novella series, nearly wrapped a new monster book, cross-stitched outside my skill zone, and had a major life revelation thanks to an eye test.

It’s been soft. It’s been spicy. It’s been full of girlhood, gloom, and the kind of cozy productivity that only happens when Ireland decides to gift you an autumn flavored July.

So let’s get into it…

💌 What I’m Writing

I did it. I finished writing The Zodiac Society.

Twelve steamy, heartfelt, chaotic novellas… plus a secret thirteenth that wraps everything up with a special little bow. These stories will continue to drop monthly on the paid tier of my Patreon, so if you haven’t subscribed yet, this is your sign to dive in. The final chapters of Astraea’s journey are some of my favorite scenes I’ve ever written. And yes, there are cuddles. And collars. And an earth themed surprise I’m keeping zipped until it’s time.

Meanwhile in BHO (shhh, that’s our code name for now), I’m almost finished drafting the first book in my brand new cozy monster series. If you liked Rosie’s café and cinnamon roll monsters with complicated feelings… you’re going to love what’s coming. Wholesome heat, a soft spoken minotaur, and a small town where omegas are just starting to find their place. I’m also working with the most incredible artist on the cover, we’re halfway done and it’s already everything I dreamed of.

And because I apparently don’t sleep anymore: I’ve also been busy drafting new anthology pieces for projects I can’t announce yet. But I can say this…

Expect antlers, autumn leaves, sapphic dryads, and frog monsters. You’re welcome.

🖤 A Little Bit Darker…

Over in the shadows, TVC (our secret code for now) is in full swing. I’m officially drafting Book One of this dark, delicious, and deeply dangerous new series. It’s Dark Academia meets Omegaverse in the best way… think candlelit dormitories, ritual magic, and dangerous Alphas who worship you like a religion. I can’t say more (yet), but if you like your romances bloody, bound, and beautiful… Sofia Graves has you covered.

📖 What I’m Reading

I’ve been savoring Nightshade by Autumn Woods, it’s the perfect autumnal mystery with a touch of academia and just enough yearning.

Between that and my never ending Zodiac Academy obsession, I’m fully living in that soft, scholarly, slightly gothic fantasy space. Honestly? Peak autumn in July mood.

🎧 Current Writing Playlist

My current hyperfixation is Billie Marten’s new album, especially No Sudden Changes. It’s soft, steady, and makes me want to write longing glances across mossy courtyards. If you have any tracks that feel like kissing a storm elemental under an umbrella, please send them my way.

💬 Quick Catch-Up

Sabbatical life continues… and I’m soaking up every second.

✨ I’ve been writing in local coffee shops, pretending I’m the main character in a cozy cottagecore film.

🍓 I started a strawberry cross stitch that’s absolutely above my skill level. It’s chaos, but it’s cute.

☔ It’s been weirdly gloomy for July in Ireland, so I’m leaning hard into autumn vibes. Bring on the socks and spooky playlists.

👭 Book club and writing nights with my girls have filled my cup more than I can say. Girlhood is everything to me right now.

👓 And the big twist? I got an eye test… and turns out I’ve been short-sighted this whole time. I used to strain my eyes to “pass” eye exams. Now that I’m unlearning that late diagnosed autistic need to mask and “perform,” things are shifting… bittersweet and beautiful.

And when I’m not writing? I’m playing Tales of the Shire on my Switch, reading in my blanket pile, painting little ghosts on heart shaped canvases, and planning how to fill your shelves with even *more* monsters who love deeply and knot respectfully.

Thanks for checking in with me, sweetheart. I’ll be back soon with cover teases, story drops, and more cozy chaos than even Maribelle (my jellyfish lamp) can handle.

🧁 Stay soft, stay spicy,

Sofia
