The Life and Undeath of Mortimer Drake

Greetings all you fans of fiction for young adults! I want to invite you to join me in an amazing adventure. I have recently published the first two installments in a new vampire series for young adult readers.

Now, before you dismiss yet another vampire story, let me give you a little background info on my vampires. They are not your typical blood-drinking, garlic-fearful, sunlight-avoiding undead. Granted, many of the vampiric traits are present in my stories, but the vampires that populate my world are of a much more diverse stock.

Mortimer Drake is a teenager who discovers that he is the product of a supernatural and forbidden mixed-marriage. His mother is human but is father is a 900 year old Greek vampire descended from the Ancient Gods of Olympus.

Mortimer learns that there are two very different races of vampires in the world: True-Born and Cross-Blood. The True-Borns are the pure race of immortals who are born as vampires. Cross-Bloods are those vampires that were once human. Although both sets of vampires share many attributes, Cross-Bloods are not as powerful as the True-Borns nor are they immortal. They view Mortimer as their key to dominance since his blood is a natural mix of human and vampire DNA.

Mortimer is forced into a new life that was not his making. His family is highly regarded among the ruling Ministry of the Undead who is at war with Ian Smyth - A Cross-Blood vampire who wants nothing more than to control the vampire nations of the world. Mortimer and is family are thrown into the middle of this centuries old conflict.

I hope that you will check on my first two books, Growing Up Dead and Out of the Underworld. They are available as eBooks through amazon.com and Barnes & Noble (bn.com).
