Ekari Mbvundula Chirombo is a Malawian speculative fiction writer, editor, and environmental scientist. Drawing on her background in environmental science, Ekari writes speculative fiction that explores the relationship between humanity, technology, faith, and the natural world.

She is the author of the Afrofuturist eco-dystopian novel "Green Shadows: Vinjeru's Awakening" and co-author of "Mombera Rising", a speculative fiction anthology produced as part of a collaborative research project involving Stockholm University and the University of the Witwatersrand.
