Behind the Candle: How the Candleberry Chronicles Started
What started as a high school project turned into a lifelong passion for storytelling. In September 2023, I embarked on a homework assignment to research a career, its salary, and budget to see if I could make a living from it. Like many high schoolers, I initially gravitated toward high-paying careers. However, none of them sparked joy within me. That's when the idea of becoming an author struck me.
I've always loved crafting stories, especially ones filled with meaning and endless possibilities. Reflecting on my childhood, I remembered the magical tales I used to concoct with my brother and sister. Those special moments were priceless, and they inspired me to create something enduring as I approached the end of my high school journey.
In January of 2024, the concept of Candleberry was born. Inspired by the rich themes of Narnia and the epic quests of Lord of the Rings, I set out to write "The Candleberry Chronicles." But I wanted my story to be more than just an adventure. By weaving in subtle allegorical themes from the Bible, I aimed to honor God and encourage readers to reflect on their own life choices.
"The Candleberry Chronicles: The Burning Candle" invites readers into a world where characters must choose between walking in the light or trembling in the shadows—a choice we all must face. My hope is that through this journey, readers will find themselves reflecting on their own choices and the paths they walk.
