Alison Langley is a former foreign correspondent with extensive experience covering events across Europe. She began her journalism career in the US before moving to Europe in 1986, where she reported on a wide range of topics in Germany, Hungary, Austria, and Switzerland. From 1990 to 1994, Langley freelanced for the Wall Street Journal Europe in Budapest, where her novel is set. Langley lives in the Swiss Alps with her husband and their rescue dog.

Anyone who is living in a country not their own will find so many truths in this book. Anyone who has stayed in their home country will learn beautiful things about the upheaval of moving countries. This is a gorgeous book. Loved it!
