It's Not November, But Let's Talk Turkey!

An Ounce of Prevention

But I think we can
and must
do better than that!
Our children can grow uncertain,
lonely, confused, and afraid
it’s the price they’ve paid
in a culture
gone rogue.
It became vogue to
influence children
behind their parent’s back.
They were and are not equipped
for such deception, manipulation, and distraction
while their enemy gained traction.
So what has been put in my hand
enabling us to do better than that
is a simple, sound, profound
series of books
directed wholeheartedly
to give our young
solid ground.
God their creator can establish them well
where lies and insecurities
cannot dwell.
Our children can know God,
not just stories about Him.
They can dwell securely
knowing their God is right inside.
They can have a friendship relationship
and an inside guide.
Ours is to present their true identity,
and the at-hand
relationship with their Creator
long before outside sources
present their sorcery.

GOD SAID, THEY SAY
What Voice Do We Obey?

It was God who designed you,
gave you your identity
yet, you and I deny
or at least doubt
His design,
and oh bumb!
we succumb
to what
“they” say.
But wait,
there is another voice,
the one in our head,
you know the one
we don’t question
because after all,
that’s just what I think!
Another voice to make us sink.
Now that we’ve got our
cast of characters straight,
God, They, and Me,
We can more clearly see
who or Who truly
tells it like it is.
Gee Whiz,
it is that easy.
Obey
means to listen under,
yield authority to
so, Who or who
do you want
to have that place?
Too short for a blog?
I think enough said,
especially when
I’ve hit the nail
on the head.

EVALUATING MY TEACHERS

I have been experiencing some physical pain that has been quite a challenge to say the least! I am still in the process of getting it under control. With that said, this girl won't be kept down!
I wanted to share a poem I wrote a while back that I thought was perfect for my situation and I hope it will speak to yours too.
I’ve done a lot of reading.
I've done a good deal of listening
And they both have their place
for the human race.
But did either of these modes
ultimately set me on better roads?
Not really.
I can admire and agree
with higher paths
but for me the warm feelings
and emotional agreement
have waned all too soon.
What has affected change for me?
PAIN.
Physical and emotional,
is quite a teacher.
Oh I kid you not, I’d rather
read about a glorious path
than experience pain
as the means to find the gain.
For example,
there is pain involved
in being mistreated
or in being ignored
after pouring my heart out.
Once when the pain
was severe
He whispered in my ear,
“Mary Alice, would you be
mad at a blind person?”
Certainly not.
Pain disappeared.
And physical pain
remained as unwanted
as a squatter
as I owned the Life
He has in and for me.
The life changes
I have truly made
have come from life experiences
provoking me to change.
Real Life
has been my
best teacher.

Are You Loaded With Too Much?

Hello, Mary Alice the Writer here!
I gotta a question, are you LOADED?
Your "daytimer" that is.
Why do we think we should
pack more in?
Year-by-year
we’re on the go
making a good show.
Probably a light-bulb moment
here and there
has brought the thought-
“What is this all about?
Where is the gain in just
wearing myself out?
Is that really what I’m all about?”
Now scripture says; “Be still and know”
but on we go,
Well, just these few more things …
As King David said,
“As a weaned child he quieted his soul.
Oh yes, it’s far from always being on the go.”
Going where, when it’s all said and done?
I wonder, what is His chosen pace?
Oh, my word!
Certainly not this rat race!!
Is your quietness, deep inside
Isn’t it more important than
The merry-go-round stride?
Your greatest treasure, my greatest treasure, is not out-there, somewhere.
Your treasure, my treasure, our true rest,
is deep inside our breast.
Perhaps, staying in His stride
is what is meant by “Abide.”

The Heart of The Matter

I recently came across "Invaded by Love: How Jesus Shattered Adam's Delusion and Restored Our True Identity." by Camden Gill
I started thinking about this, and then I started writing. I wanted to share the revelation that came to me.
We’ve been sold
a bill of goods
handed a long
list of” shoulds.”
“A distorted blueprint,”
were the words
Camden McGill
used to describe
what mankind has
labeled as sin.
Our original design,
in the image of
and in union with
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
was contorted, distorted
and mankind tried to ‘behave’
his way out.
Tell me,
how can anyone
behave
his way
into Original Design?
You either are
or you aren’t
— and all
mankind was created to be.
If I was created
in His image,
If Yahweh is woven throughout
my DNA,
I have only to awaken
to the reality of
Christ in me.
We fell for a system
much like a cistern,
but
“We have access by faith
into this grace
wherein we stand..(Rom 5:2)
Let’s amplify that a bit:
…”by faith
into this remarkable state of grace
in which we firmly
and safely
and securely
stand.”
Faith is simply like wearing God’s glasses,
seeing and knowing as He.
Faith awakened
finds me standing
in His grace,
His gift.
No effort required,
mere humble submission
to a LIFE UNION GIVEN.

Mirrored in His Eyes

Hello, Mary Alice here,,,,
My inspiration for this video blog came from a Facebook post from Brett Endress I read recently, this is what it said:
“My 8-year-old daughter curled up right next to me last night and stared into my eyes. She was looking intensely into my eyes and said without shame or fear, “I am just admiring myself in your eyes.”
Which made me think of this verse:
“And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.
2Cor. 3:18
Maybe it is the very simplicity that stumbles us. Did He not say we are as He is? That suggests mirroring again. Simply looking into His eyes and admiring how He sees us.
The graphic in the video carries a powerful sense of stillness. An undisturbed mirroring. Often when “Quiet yourself” or “Be still and know” is mentioned, the response is, “Oh that is so hard!”
However, just as we learn to be a good listener, or learn a new skill we can learn to be still and see ourselves through His eyes.
