“Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably thro’ every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate, systematical plan of reducing us to slavery.”
John B. Boles, Jefferson: Architect of American Liberty

“Time wastes too fast: every letter I trace tells me with what rapidity life follows my pen. The days and hours of it are flying over our heads like clouds of windy day never to return—more every thing presses on—”
John B. Boles, Jefferson: Architect of American Liberty

“Only aim to do your duty, and mankind will give you credit.… No longer persevere in sacrificing the rights of one part of the empire to the inordinate desires of another.”
John B. Boles, Jefferson: Architect of American Liberty
