Check it out!

I have a new novella coming next month from Crystal Lake Publishing. 100 pages of a fast, bizarre, and gritty read, and I've got advance review copies.

—What's it about? Imagine if CRONENBERG remade TRAINSPOTTING within the universe of LES MISERABLES while reading CHARLOTTE'S WEB to his twin daughters: you'd come up with KALI'S WEB.

2025 Horror Writers Association Stokercon Weekend in Stamford, Connecticut

I'm recently home from Stamford, Connecticut and the Horror Writers Association Stokercon weekend. After having gone to the last 6 of 7 conventions, I understand what people mean about making so many friends. It feels like the happiest place on earth, and I reunited with old friends and made some new ones. It's a place where the horror writers and horror fans feel at home, and furthers my belief (as I've repeated more than once): Horror writers have the finest hearts around.

I was a panelist for Combating Loneliness as a writer and Horror as Therapy. I laughed and cried (literally) and barely ate (only two sit down meals). I sold some books at the mass signing, and bought as many books as I sold (such is the circle of writing and reading life.) Seemed only right that such and adventure take a ten hour road trip. Next year, it's even closer at Pittsburgh.

Here's a handful of images

TO THOSE WILLING TO DROWN — Cover Reveal

Check it out!! Cover art for my upcoming novel:

TO THOSE WILLING TO DROWN

Yay! Thank you, Ben Baldwin.

*What's it about?* "To save her daughter’s soul, a grieving mother must battle a sinister pastor who feeds off the cremains of the dead and haunts a lake community."
Inside this novel, you’ll find a unique blend of grief horror. (You’ll never look at the ashes of a deceased loved one in the same way again). You’ll also find dark, mythical creatures living in the depths of the lake, and even darker ones living in the depths of the characters’ souls. Torch Lake holds decades of memories for me and my family. The lake is full of life. It has moods and feelings and speaks to you in a language all its own. You can’t just dip your foot into the shallows and dabble in its mysteries. You have to completely succumb, and for that, you will be rewarded with its secrets, for… "the lake speaks most honestly to those willing to drown."

For rabid readers, reviewers, book-tokkers, inquire about ARCs here:

Stokercon 2024 in San Diego

Spent last weekend in San Diego at Stokercon. What a fantastic time. Multiple panels, many conversations. Laughs, tears, books, conversations. I handed out ARCs of my upcoming novella Kali's Web, and working on plans for a recently finished novel. I pre-recorded a panel on Grief in Horror, and I moderated the panel: The Intersection of Mental Health and Horror panel. Rather than simply discuss how to best depict mental illness when writing horror, we dove into a discussion of if Horror (either consuming it, or creating it) can be 'good' for our mental health. With all the shiny, happy people at the convention, I can safely conclude it is. "Better out than in" as Jon Maberry said at the opening ceremonies. I'll be there in Connecticut for STokercon2025

Another highlight: sitting next to friend, fantastic writer and wonderful human, Christa Carmen, when she won her Stoker Award and snapping this shot
