Some standard recommended ideas are changing your environment, reading more, establishing a routine, pushing ahead no matter what or gamifying the challenge. Others advocate embracing imperfection- not to get to caught up in the chiselling of it all, freewriting, discussing with fellow writers or like minded people and taking care of oneself. According to me, as Polonius said to Laertes, to thine own self be true. In simple words do what works for you, period.(less)

Soho Vanishing
Sunil Kumar
At its heart, The Soho Vanishing was born from an obsession—the kind that lingers in old books, shadowy theatres, and whispered conversations with ghosts of the past. My love for British literature, history and cinema, alongside years in journalism, taught me to chase mysteries hiding in plain sight. From castles and forts to the sto Read more of this blog post »

“The other day I saw in an evening paper that Indians were called “invertebrates”. Rather good that, isn’t it? The Saturday Review, by the by, made a very wise remark a few weeks ago. It said that Indians were bound to have self-government but, — and herein lies the difficulty — not before a few aeons of geological time ! This may mean anything between a few million years and a wholly incomprehensible period. The chief difficulty was the want of education, and some million generations will be required to educate them up to the colonial standard”

“As Romain Rolland summed it up, ‘The Indian nationalist movement smouldered for a long time until Vivekananda’s breath blew the ashes into flame, and erupted violently three years after his death in 1905.’²”

Sunil Kumar shared a quote
“Real communication occurs, and this evaluative tendency is avoided, when we listen with understanding. What does this mean? It means to see the expressed idea and attitude from the other person’s point of view, to sense how it feels to him, to achieve his frame of reference in regard to the thing he is talking about.

Stated so briefly, this may sound absurdly simple, but it is not.”
