2 with betas, 2 more on deck
Both Letters from a Middle-Aged Ninja and Shelley on the Edge of Wonder are with beta readers, so I'm waiting for their feedback to guesstimate release dates. The first is a series of life lessons gleaned from my years in martial arts, and the second is a biography of my mother's travels in the 1950s. I anticipate both will be released before mid September.
The rough draft for How Not to Run Away is about a quarter done. The research for this one has been fun. Though I lived and traveled in Europe several decades ago, I know it's nothing like it was in some ways. Sure, the ancient architecture is still there, but everything is euros now, and getting from place to place just isn't the same. Fortunately for me, I have friends who live there and can tell me all about the changes that have taken place. That has made for some entertaining anecdotes, some of which may sneak themselves into the story with names changed.
For those who missed the earlier announcement, this is a chick lit novel about a tiny house designer/ YouTube social influencer who runs off on a European tour to escape a bad relationship and other things. She's a fiery little redhead who is discovering what she really wants in life.
(So, yes. That's two stories about young women traveling in foreign lands--one fact, one fiction. You counted correctly.)
Lastly, The Quiet Princess is off to a good start. I had to take some time to formulate the world-building and character arcs before I got to writing. Sometimes I wish I could build a table-top full-relief map of the places I make up just to make visualization easier!
