Patrick Tracy was a LGBTQ+ civil rights during the 80s and 90s. As the chair of the American Statistical Association's Gay and Lesbian Caucus, he championed the cause for the federal government to report economic and health data by sexuality, paving the way for more inclusive and accurate representations. He helped plan the 1993 March on Washington, and was a vocal participant in ACT-UP protests, demanding quicker development and distribution of HIV treatments.
For a decade, Patrick served as an economist in the Governor's Office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For a brief time he worked in an econometric forecasting firm in Philadelphia. Then for nearly three decades he was a Federal employee in Washington, D.C.
