The Short of it All
Back in 2006 I hiked the Appalachian Trail and kept an online journal. When I returned home a small fanbase convinced me to write a book. It was a good way for me to process my adventure, so I did. The thousand copies eventually sold out, but I was too busy with work and other adventures to notice.
After I retired, I wandered upon the old book. The story was still great, but many things had not aged well. I decided to be an author again and breathe new life into it. I had lost the master copy of the original book, so I had to sit down and rewrite it from scratch.
Here's hoping the 2023 version holds up better, and if it doesn't, well, it still makes me laugh.
