David Bassano is a History professor at Brookdale Community College in New Jersey. He holds a PhD in International, Global, and Comparative History, specializing in Human Rights. He is a human rights activist, a passion which informs his writing.

He has an expensive addiction to travel and a cheaper penchant for hiking and bicycling.

His short story collection, Altiplano and Other Short Stories, won the 2025 Spring PenCraft Seasonal Book Award.
