Welcome!

Hi Goodreads,

Thanks for your interest in me and my novel Living Proof. In this blog, I'll share news on the journey to my upcoming publication, anecdotes from my life, and some commentary on other books I'm reading.

To kick it off, and because the end of the year calls for lists, here are 5 things you probably don't know about me:

1) I wrote Living Proof when I was 22, the year after I graduated from college.
2) The book was inspired by my experiences reporting from the White House when I was a newspaper intern in 2006.
3) Music is a huge part of my life. I've played violin since age 6 and my fiancee is a singer songwriter.
4) I'm from Orange County, Calif. and when I moved to NYC at age 18, I had never seen snow fall.
5) Christmas is my favorite holiday; it's even better than it was as a kid, because as an adult, I get the real fun: giving the gifts, not just unwrapping my own.

Cheers, and happy holidays to all--

Kira
