I'm Jennifer Griffith — author, speaker, and podcast host.

Both Sides of Then: Finding Love After Abandonment started with an evening at thirteen years old, when I learned my mother had relinquished her firstborn for adoption. That single conversation reshaped how I saw her, and eventually sent me looking for the woman she was before she became my mother — a girl who lost her own parents young, grew up in a Baptist orphanage, and faced an unwed pregnancy in an era built to keep it silent.

The memoir tells both of our stories side by side, and writing it left me with a question I haven't stopped chasing since: how much of our own lives are shaped by the chapters of our mothers' lives that happened before we ever arrived.
