Read this for book club. Had a great discussion about the book even though everyone (six of us) all disliked the novel. The hype was huge and unfortunately did not pan out.

Good enough for 3 stars. Easy to tell it’s an older book and the story isn’t as connected and detailed as modern day fantasy. Glad to say I’ve read it. And the book itself is beautiful.

Listened to the audiobook and enjoyed it very much. Very creative and clever.

and this book is the real deal, and it deserved the big prize, and so much complexity interconnected, and I recommend and the whole long sentence is brilliant.

4.5 stars even though I thoroughly despised the protagonist, Ignatius Reilly. I did like the last 30 pages and how quick it tied everything together. While it was written and published before Infinite Jest, I liked Infinite Jest more. Creative book, ...more
