She enjoyed lavish birthday parties and studied ballet. Unlike many of her peers, Campbell knew she was never abused.

Another Weir Mastery!

Could not put it down. Inhaled the book in three days. Excellent research as always. Weir is in the same league as our finest science-fiction masters like Wells, Heinlein, Asimov, Clark, Ellison, etc.

“It's all right if you can't remember. Our subconscious is spectacularly agile. Sometimes it knows when to take us away, as a kind of protection.”

Karen Joy Fowler
“The happening and telling are very different things. This doesn’t mean that the story isn’t true,
only that I honestly don’t know anymore if I really remember it or only remember how to tell it. Language does this to our memories, simplifies, solidifies, codifies, mummifies. An off-told story is like a photograph in a family album. Eventually it replaces the moment it was meant to capture.”
Karen Joy Fowler, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves
