The narrative does not jump from one character to the next. A reader could enjoy this book without having read the first three. That said, it propels the overall Devil's Fire story toward its eventual conclusion. This standalone story is a key piece of the puzzle, and crucial in Kate Lindsay's evolution.(less)

The Devil's Horizon by Matt Tomerlin
"Nothing short of a "no waaay?! 😂😂" plot-twist ending to the trilogy.
Kate has truly been revealed as the unkillable favourite of the author. What I really appreciate about this is that, despite her coming away almost unscathed almost always, we don't" Read more of this review »

“I'm my own boss and my boss is a total ass.”
Aisha Tyler

“Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.”
Stephen King

“If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
Stephen King

“I have known many gods. He who denies them is as blind as he who trusts them too deeply. I seek not beyond death. It may be the blackness averred by the Nemedian skeptics, or Crom's realm of ice and cloud, or the snowy plains and vaulted halls of the Nordheimer's Valhalla. I know not, nor do I care. Let me live deep while I live; let me know the rich juices of red meat and stinging wine on my palate, the hot embrace of white arms, the mad exultation of battle when the blue blades flame and crimson, and I am content. Let teachers and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and am content.”
Robert E. Howard and L. Sprague De Camp, Queen of the Black Coast

“Books are no more threatened by Kindle than stairs by elevators.”
Stephen Fry
