Excellent account of how several future rivals worked together at one time as a cohesive American unit. See Jefferson Davis in a new light as well as many southern generals. They all had a West Point connection that bound them together.

Very interesting book about the comradery between San Francisco politicians and Jim Jones. Harvey Milk, Willie Brown; they all cozied up to Jim Jones because Jones could control the votes of his congregation.

Great book. Probably better experience having seen the movie first as I could put a face (actor face anyway) with most of the characters.
